Where the time goes when you clip

Editing a thirty-second clip takes minutes. Finding it inside a three-hour video is what takes the afternoon. SnapMedia does the finding: it reads the full transcript and returns the moments with a strong first line and a clean ending, with the timestamps, so you can check ten candidates in the time it takes to scrub through one.

It also shows you what the audience has already voted on. YouTube’s Most Replayed graph marks the parts viewers go back to, and clips that contain those parts are labelled. When you are choosing which of ten clips to post first, that is the closest thing to evidence you will get before posting.

Before you post a clip to a campaign

  • Read the campaign rules. Most forbid third-party watermarks, so use Pro exports for anything you submit; the free plan’s watermark is for testing.
  • Clip only what the campaign or the creator has cleared. A view-count payout does not survive a takedown.
  • It works on videos that are on YouTube with captions. Twitch and Kick VODs are not supported unless the stream is also uploaded to YouTube.
  • It picks, frames and captions. Layouts with gameplay underneath, emoji and sound effects are still your editor’s job; take the SRT with you.

How to clip a long video for a clipping campaign

  1. Copy the source link. Copy the YouTube URL of the video the campaign allows you to clip.
  2. Paste it. Paste it on snap-media.com/clipping-tool and choose the clip length the platform favours.
  3. Start with the labelled clips. Clips marked “Most replayed” contain the parts viewers already re-watch; preview those first.
  4. Export and submit. Download the MP4 (1080p without watermark on Pro), post it, and submit the link to the campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a clipper?
Someone who cuts long content — streams, podcasts, interviews — into short clips and posts them on TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Many do it through clipping campaigns, where a creator or brand pays per thousand views a clip receives; rates and rules vary by campaign.
Is this clipping tool free?
Free to start: 1 video a day without an account, 3 a day with a free one (videos up to 30 minutes), and 5 clip exports a day in 720p with a small watermark. Pro (9.99 EUR/month or 89 EUR/year) takes videos up to 3 hours, suggests up to 10 clips per video and exports 1080p without the watermark. Caption files (SRT, VTT, TXT) are always free.
Can I use the free plan for paid campaigns?
You can find and preview clips for free, and download the caption files. Free MP4 exports are 720p with a SnapMedia watermark, which most campaigns do not accept, so submissions usually need Pro.
Does it work with Twitch or Kick streams?
Not directly. It works from a YouTube link and needs the video to have captions, which YouTube generates automatically for almost everything with speech. It does not take file uploads. A stream that is re-uploaded to YouTube works once YouTube has generated its captions.
How many clips can I make a day?
On Pro, up to 30 videos a day with up to 10 suggested clips each, and 100 MP4 exports a day.
