Which part of a long video becomes a good Short
A Short gets judged in its first two seconds, and it has to make sense to someone who never saw the full video. That rules out most of a long upload: setup, context, housekeeping. What is left are a handful of moments that open with something sharp and close on a payoff.
SnapMedia reads the whole transcript and picks those moments. Every cut lands on a sentence boundary, taken from the caption timings, so a Short never starts or ends mid-word. And when YouTube publishes the Most Replayed graph for the video, it is used too: clips that contain the parts viewers actually re-watch are labelled. That is YouTube’s audience data, not a guess.
What you get for each Short
- A vertical 9:16 MP4 — the crop follows the face on screen, or the full frame sits over a blurred background when the subject is not a person.
- Captions burned in, word by word with the active word highlighted, or a cleaner style, or none.
- A suggested title, the opening line, and one sentence on why it was picked.
- The SRT, VTT or TXT of the clip, timed from zero, if you would rather caption it in your editor.
